Which Profession Do Banks "Want to Lend" to the Most?

When applying for a home loan, many people might think that as long as they have a salary and complete payslips, they can easily get approval.
But the truth is, your "profession" is a crucial variable that banks use to assess risk!
Did you know that... for some professions, banks compete to lend, while for others... banks immediately look stressed upon seeing the documents!

Today, Proview will tell you which banks "like" which professions and how you should choose where to apply for a loan to increase your chances of approval.

Professions that banks "easily approve loans" and particularly favor

1) Civil Servants / State Enterprise Employees

  • High stability, definite regular monthly salary

  • Often have special loan welfare, low interest rates, safe for banks

  • Preferred banks: Almost all banks, especially Government Savings Bank, GH Bank, Krungthai Bank

2) Employees of large companies (private sector)

  • Clear income, complete payslips and bank statements

  • If working for a listed company or a well-known company (Big Name), you get extra points.

  • Preferred banks: Krungsri, Kasikorn, SCB, BBL

3) Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Pilots

  • Considered "high-income, stable" professions in the eyes of banks.

  • Some banks even have special loan programs for this group!

  • Preferred banks: SCB, Thanachart, Krungsri

Professions that banks "think hard about" before lending

1) Freelancers, Small Business Owners, Online Vendors

  • Unstable income, fluctuates with seasons / economic conditions

  • Must have strong bank statements for at least 6-12 months.

  • Banks that are somewhat receptive: Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), Kasikorn (Kbank), Krungthai (KTB), but you need to prepare strong supporting documents.

2) Temporary Employees / Part-time / No Payslips

  • Very difficult to get approved because banks view this as too high risk.

So which bank should we choose to apply for a loan?

1) If you are a civil servant / state enterprise employee → Start with Government Savings Bank / GH Bank first.
2) If you are an employee of a large company → Choose Krungsri / Kasikorn / SCB.
3) If you are a business owner or freelancer → Choose SCB or Kasikorn and prepare supporting documents such as income/expense records, contracts, bank statements, etc.

Tips:

  • Don't apply to every bank randomly, because banks can see where else you've applied, and they will consider you high risk!

  • Choose only 2-3 banks that are most suitable for your profession.

Summary

Your "profession" impacts home loan applications more than you think!
Understand your profession and choose a bank that "wants to lend" to your type of profession.
Prepare your documents meticulously, and you'll have a much easier time getting approved without breaking a sweat!
